What do women look for in their spouse?

While choosing a spouse is not an easy endeavor, one should know exactly what they desire. No two women are same, and I feel that all women look and wants various attributes in their spouse. Some fundamental basic traits, however, are shared by all women. Continue reading to learn about a couple of these aspects.

The Quran says, “And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest in them and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.” (30:21)


This is the most important quality for a good marriage or relationship. A woman should not be patronised or taken for granted. Women want to be treated equally and not fought over authority/dominance. Men should be cautious of how they address women. Being courteous also includes not mocking her in public or at home. Both men and women should have mental space to grow and evolve.


Financial, emotional, and relational stability are all examples of stability. Women prefer men on whom they can trust, rather than those who are unpredictable. Being emotionally stable entails making well-considered judgments without having unpleasant thoughts. Although some may argue that it is not required, every relationship requires stability to be effective.


Women prefer men on whom they can trust rather than males who are unpredictable. Empathy entails understanding a woman’s point of view and empathising with her. Women desire males who can demonstrate genuine concern. Compassion opens the door to a woman’s heart and enriches your marriage.

Well Mannered

A man’s anger should be under control, and he should not mistreat his family. Entering the house and yelling at your family as though Azrael [Angel of Death] has arrived is not appropriate. Men should solve issues rather than react to them. women look for in their spouse is demand love and generosity from men since they have chosen to spend their whole lives with them. Women leave their homes (Maiqa) with the expectation that their spouses will be more loving than their own parents.


Both men and women should be allowed to speak freely and express their opinions without fear of being condemned. Women prefer guys who are open about their emotions and do not suppress them.


“Say to the believing men that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts…” (24:30)

When a woman passes by, men should lower or turn their heads and not look at her. Women deserve men who can totally love them and not look at other women with malice, and vice versa. Even if one is suspicious of a man’s faith, one should discuss it.
